This is a third-party API for Runway by Runway AI. It uses your Runway subscription: Free, Standard $15, Pro $35, Max $95 or Team $69 a seat a month (as of October 2026). It makes video with Gen-4.5, Gen-4, Aleph and Act-Two, plus Seedance 2.5, Kling O3, Veo 3.1, Wan 3.0 and the other models Runway hosts, and images, lip sync and 4K upscales, through a REST API. It spends your Runway subscription’s credits, which Runway’s own developer API can’t use.

Image descriptions cost 0 credits on every Runway account, including the free one, and Runway’s Free plan comes with 125 one-time credits.
Accounts on Runway’s Unlimited plan can set exploreMode to make videos, images and 4K upscales without spending credits, at lower priority. It works on every model except Veo 3.1, Wan 3.0 and 3.0 Prime, MiniMax H3 and H3 Max, and FLUX 3 video and images, and Seedance runs at 480p or 720p in it.
Billed yearly, Standard costs $12, Pro $28, Max $76 and Team $55 a seat a month, for the same credits.
Team is priced per seat, from two seats, and every seat adds 6,900 credits to one shared pool.

Run several Runway accounts

Generation requests don’t need email: each job goes to one of your Runway accounts with a free job slot, within the maxJobs limit (1 to 10, 5 recommended) you set for each account with POST accounts. Runway runs at least one job per account at a time, often two. When every account is busy you get 429, so wait for a job to finish and send it again. Pass email to run a job on a specific account. A job that uses an uploaded asset runs on the account that holds it.

An account that generates in a paid Runway Team workspace connects with useWorkspace, so its videos spend the workspace’s shared credits, and GET features lists each account’s credits and workspaces.

Every generation request can also send its result to your webhook (replyUrl, what it sends), so you don’t have to poll while a video takes about 10 minutes.

Questions

Does Runway have an API?

Through useapi.net, yes, and it reaches models that Runway’s own developer API doesn’t sell, among them Gen-4 video, Gen-4 Aleph, FLUX 3, Frames, Lip Sync, Kling 3.0 Motion Control and Wan 2.2 Animate (as of October 2026). It runs on your Runway website subscription, alongside Gen-4.5, Act-Two, Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1.

How much does the Runway API cost?

Through useapi.net, Runway videos and images spend the monthly credits of the Runway subscription you already pay for, the same credits each one uses in the Runway app. Runway’s developer API can’t spend those credits and sells its own at $0.01 each, while Max billed yearly works out to $0.008 a credit (as of October 2026). The comparison shows what each one runs.

How do I get a Runway API key?

Through useapi.net you need no Runway developer key: you call the API with a useapi.net API token and connect your Runway account through Setup Runway, a free one included. Is there a Runway image-to-video API?

Through useapi.net, yes: POST gen4_5/create turns a first image into a Gen-4.5 video, POST gen4/create runs Gen-4, and POST videos/create adds Seedance with real faces, which ByteDance’s own Seedance 2.5 guide rules out for reference images. Kling, Veo 3.1 and MiniMax H3 run from the same endpoint.

Is there a free Runway API?

Through useapi.net, image descriptions are free and unlimited on every Runway account, the free one too: they turn an image into a detailed prompt, and Runway’s developer API has no image-description model at all (as of October 2026). Everything else spends your Runway subscription’s credits, and the calculator prices each model. The free tool is only available through useapi.net.
