Use this when you think your API token was exposed, or simply want a new one.

The reset takes two steps, so a stolen token or a stolen website sign-in alone can never change it:

  1. This endpoint emails a confirmation link to your account email. Nothing changes yet. The link is good for 15 minutes.
  2. You open the link and click Reset token on useapi.net. A new token is issued and we email you the same link as in your welcome email, which now shows the new token.

After the reset, the old token is refused for almost every request right away. For a short while it may still:

  • use the MiniMax image and video endpoints (start, check, cancel or delete generations), for up to 10 minutes
  • read the status and results of your Mureka and Google Flow jobs, including ones started with the new token, for up to 30 minutes
  • repeat a read-only request it just made, for up to 1 minute

Everything else, including other services, adding accounts and changing settings, is refused right away.

You are also signed out of the useapi.net website in every browser, with the same short windows as the old token. Sign in again at useapi.net/login.

Both emails show when and from where the request was made (time, IP address, approximate location and browser or client), so you can tell whether it was you.

Request Headers
Authorization: Bearer {API token}
  • API token is required, see Setup useapi.net for details.
    It works for lapsed subscriptions too, so you can reset the token before you renew.
Responses
  • 200 OK

    The confirmation link was emailed. Your token has not changed yet.

    If you ask again within 2 minutes you get the same answer, usually without a second email. Use the link you already have.

    The confirmation email could not be sent. Nothing changed, try again.
