Turn a Web Page or YouTube Video into a Podcast with NotebookLM: A Real Example

October 4, 2026

A Wikipedia page, a NASA video on YouTube and a few related sources went in, and NotebookLM made the podcast below on its own. Nobody opened the NotebookLM website. The useapi.net NotebookLM API (Gemini Notebook API) sent the sources and collected the audio, running on our own Google account. It’s a Google AI Pro plan, and the free plan works too, with lower limits. Google has renamed NotebookLM to Gemini Notebook, so you’ll see both names.

The podcast

“Fifty Seconds of Fuel and Lunar Isolation”, an Audio Overview in the brief format and short length, 1 min 31 s, made in 4 min 36 s

The notebook was built around two main sources, the Apollo 11 article on Wikipedia and the NASA Goddard video A New Look at the Apollo 11 Landing Site, plus a pasted paragraph, a PDF copy of the article and web pages found with Discover sources. The full tutorial lists every input.

The same notebook, as a video and an infographic

Video Overview, whiteboard style, the first 90 seconds of 11 min 50 s
NotebookLM infographic about the Apollo 11 landing, sketch-note style
Infographic, sketch-note style, made in 1 min 45 s

All of it in 20 seconds:

Make your own

Pick the path that fits you. Both run on your own Google account, including a free one.

Without code, import the free n8n workflows into n8n Cloud or your own n8n. Paste a few links, or point it at a blog’s RSS feed so every new post becomes a podcast.

As a developer, follow the step-by-step tutorial that makes everything on this page with curl, or start from the GitHub examples in Node.js, Python and a Colab notebook.

What it costs

A flat $15/month for useapi.net, an independent service not made by Google, which covers every useapi.net API. There is no charge per podcast. How many you can make depends on your Google plan’s NotebookLM limits, and you can connect several Google accounts to make more. See NotebookLM at scale.

Start using the API

A single $15/month subscription covers every API on useapi.net — one token, all services. You connect up to 3 of your own provider accounts per service, and useapi.net handles the REST API, load balancing, and polling.
